Reliable managed hosting platform

ForLinux, provides a great service that we have used for the last four years. Their personal service and availability are two of the best things for us.

Forlinux, provides a great service that we have used for the last four years. We re-sell hosting and domain registration certificates and we use ForLinux for the hosting side of things. We can provide a good, reliable platform and a personal service to our customers, so we can afford to charge a little bit more – and we know we’ve got people we can rely on.
With the hosting company we were previously using, we had a couple of occasions when the server went down for 24 hours at a time. One client lost 30 grand in a weekend because of this.
It got to the point where we felt we had to go to somebody we know. We have personally known Steve Nice at ForLinux for years and he said ‘Why not give us a try?’ That was years ago and we have been very pleased with the results.

PERSONAL. RELIABLE, AVAILABLE EXPERTISE
From our business’s point of view, we get really, really good service. If something goes wrong outside normal office hours, we can actually speak to a real person who doesn’t ask us for the user name and the password for the server, who does know who we are and who does know how to sort it out, and that is really important to us.
When you look at the competition, it’s all very impersonal, but the ForLinux lads are always very responsive... Their personal service and availability are two of the best things for us.

LOWER COST, HIGHER SECURITY
And Open Source software is key, really, to our business. The cost of a Windows server is usually much greater than a Linux server. And with Linux and with all Open Source software, we believe it’s much more secure than Microsoft... If there are any holes, they get plugged very quickly because everybody can see them and everybody can fix them. Whereas with Microsoft, it’s all kept to themselves and only they know the problems.
