Server Backup

Backups are a last line of defence against problems in an IT environment and are an essential and critical process to protect your business. ForLinux’s experience and knowledge in this area gives our clients the peace of mind they need to confidently focus on other important aspects of their business.

Just taking a copy of data is not a solution - knowing:

  • What to take
  • How to take it
  • How often to take it and
  • How to store it
  • How and when to use it

are essential components of a robust backup regime.

How Does it Work?
We discuss with you what you need by understanding your business, and manufacturing a solution to meet your needs. We identify with you:

  • Data to be backed up
  • Frequency of the backup
  • Storage space required

Storage
Data is stored on Disc. We avoid the use of tapes due to the expense and the unreliability of tapes and drives, and of course their transportability (which makes your data vulnerable to potential theft).

Dedicated or Shared Backup Servers
For our hosted clients we then either provide a dedicated, managed backup server to store the data on disc in one of our data centres, or utilise disc space on our dedicated, managed backup servers in each of our servers’ cabinets.

Backup Schedules
Any schedule which suits your business can be used to take backups.

What is Backed Up?
Backups can comprise of two elements:

  1. ‘Configuration’ - allowing the quick restoration of your core server.
  2. ‘Data’ - the information you use.

Data Security

  • Faster recovery in the event of a disaster.
  • Linux Institute accredited engineers managing your service.
  • Best of breed - we see many customers so we know how it all works in many different places.
  • Fast and efficient service.
  • Emergency support available.
  • Tailored packages for cost effectiveness.

Can you really afford poor backup procedures?

We’re not just talking loss of data here, but potential loss of revenue and (as importantly) credibility in the eyes of your customers if your server backup provision and procedures are not the best they can be. Don’t take any chances - make sure your business is fully protected by those who know what they are doing and call us on 0845 4210444 to discuss your backup needs.
